With the 1996 release of his self-titled debut album, emerged as one of the premier Greek pop stars of his generation. Born June 19, 1970, in D端sseldorf, West Germany, at age ten he returned with his family to their native Greek city of Thessaloniki. After graduation worked a series of odd jobs while moonlighting as a singer on the local club circuit. In 1995 he relocated to Athens, opening for the likes of,, and, ultimately landing a record deal with Sony.

His debut earned double platinum certification within a year of release, buoyed by a sold-out tour -- followed in 1998 and was even more successful.
