I copied the iso file to USB pen drive.my bios lists a 'removeable device' as an option for booting.I bought this netbook in 2008 so I'm assuming that I can boot from any usb device.

I copied the iso to the pen drive, I checked my bios to have 'removeable device' as a first option.I reboot my machine and nothing happens except I arrive at the Windows login/welcome screen. I installed that would allow me to boot from a usb device.still no joy. I believe I have followed their instructions exactly.

As a side note (if I recall correctly) with my eeepc 901 I hit a key at the start of boot up (F8?) and pop menu allows me to choose which of the connected devices to boot from. I think I needed to do that to boot from USB when I installed Debian.

EDIT: Just looked it up and it seems the key for a boot menu is ESC. However, you'll still need to prepare the USB appropriately first.
