Its design is perfect for someone who switches instruments a lot during shows, and especially usefull for someone who moves alot. Ive had a bad record for ripping out cables and having things go wrong for careless moving at times, and this solved my problems completely.Ive used this for both guitar and bass and they sound great.
I even jerry rigged a microphone just to see, and it still sounded great. My Wife Got Married Sub Indo. The range on this wireless is great as well. It does develop a slight delay the further you get from the reciever, but the chances of playing more than 30 feet from your reciever are rare. The only complaint i have is that you have to be very carefull while unplugging it from your guitar. Download Border Quilting Templates. MAKE SURE YOU PULL FROM THE 1/4' jack, not the plastic transmitter.
If you pull from the plastic, there is a great chance that you will develop static when you move the transmitter even slightly when plugged in. Things loosen up and its hard to deal with at times.I highly reccomend using velcro on every instrument you will ever use this with, it will make everythign easier. Unfortunately, this unit is pretty good but as guitarist we move our body, hands, arms as we jam out. This unit simply turns off (stops transmitting). I played during a gig and it stop in the middle of a solo, needless to say it's no longer with me (trash can). I wish I returned but it was such a dramatic occurence I don't think I would purchase another unit manfactured my AKG. As a worship guitarist, I heavily use my equipment several times a week for 3 hour+ sessions, and about 3 years ago I bought a two pack of these for my guitar rig.
I found the quality of the transmission and audio to be superb. The UHF frequencies didn't interfere with any of the other diverse wealth of equipment, etc.
It really does sound as good as a direct wire setup. 2 problems I've got with them. First, the 'bug' has a swivel joint on the jack that broke in BOTH of mine within the first 6 months. It took almost another 6 months for AKG to repair them for me (for free mind you).
2nd problem is that since you have to baby them, you tend to leave them plugged in as much as possible, so therefore any active electronics are drained more than a wire that you could just yank out. You really have to super gently plug in and unplug the bugs. The rack-mounting ears are expensive too. If the bugs weren't so fragile, it would be the ultimate piece of gear.
